Blue Ridge, Ellijay & the apple country
Part of the Blue Ridge, which Georgia shares with South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia, where it goes on as Oconee, Pickens & the Blue Ridge escarpment, Greenville & the northern Upstate and Johnson City, Roan Mountain & the northeast highlands, and in one more part of Virginia.
The Blue Ridge and Ellijay gather the western mountain orchards and wooded ridges.
Maple, sourwood and hickory colour the ridges above Ellijay's orchards, with oak often turning later down the western mountain valleys.
