Part of the Blue Ridge, which Tennessee shares with Georgia, South Carolina and Virginia, where it goes on as Blue Ridge, Ellijay & the apple country, Blairsville, Dahlonega & the high mountains, Rabun, Tallulah Gorge & the northeastern mountains, Oconee, Pickens & the Blue Ridge escarpment, Greenville & the northern Upstate and Shenandoah National Park & Skyline Drive.
The Tri-Cities and Roan Mountain gather Tennessee's highest northeastern ridges and valleys.
Sugar maple, beech and birch colour the high slopes, with oak and sourwood below.
