Part of the Blue Ridge, which South Carolina shares with Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia, where it goes on as Blue Ridge, Ellijay & the apple country, Blairsville, Dahlonega & the high mountains and Rabun, Tallulah Gorge & the northeastern mountains, and in two more parts of Tennessee and Virginia.
Greenville reaches from the Reedy River into the wooded Blue Ridge foothills.
Maple and hickory colour the Blue Ridge foothills before many of the oaks and sweetgums in the lower Reedy River woods around Greenville.
