The South Cumberland & Sequatchie Valley
Part of the Cumberland Plateau, which Tennessee shares with Alabama and Kentucky, where it goes on as Lake Guntersville & Sand Mountain, Lake Cumberland & the Big South Fork and Red River Gorge & the Kentucky River headwaters.
The plateau around Tracy City and the long Sequatchie trough give the South Cumberland its striking relief.
Oak and hickory colour the plateau, with maple and tuliptree in deep coves.
