Ohio
Hocking Hills & the Athens country
Part of the Appalachian Plateau, which Ohio shares with Kentucky, where it goes on as Cave Run & the eastern foothills.
Southeast of the Hocking's sandstone recesses, the country extends toward Athens and the Ohio River.
Maple, beech and oak colour the ridges, with hemlock in the gorges.
