Part of the Missouri River Valley, which Missouri shares with Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota and South Dakota, where it goes on as Atchison & the Missouri River hills, Lake Sakakawea & the Missouri bluffs and Bismarck, Mandan & the southern Missouri, and in five more parts of Nebraska and South Dakota.
Bluff towns dot wooded farm hills along the Missouri near Columbia and across the Boonslick.
Maple and oak color the bluffs, with cottonwood and sycamore in the bottoms.
