Berkeley Springs, Harpers Ferry & the Eastern Panhandle

The Potomac passes through ridge gaps and historic river towns in the eastern Panhandle.

Oak and hickory give the dry ridges red-brown and gold, with maples along the Potomac and its tributaries, and these lower valleys turn after the high Alleghenies. By Autumn Guide’s estimates ↗ the color here was at its best in mid-October and is likely past it now.
