The Kittatinny Ridge & Sussex Skylands

Part of the Kittatinny Ridge, which New Jersey shares with Pennsylvania, where it goes on as Reading, Hawk Mountain & Schuylkill country.

Sussex’s ridge, lakes and Delaware headwaters are the northern Skylands.

Maple and birch turn around the northern lakes early in autumn, with oak giving the Kittatinny Ridge later reds and browns. By Autumn Guide’s estimates ↗ the color here was at its best in mid-October and is likely past it now.
