Charlotte & the Catawba
The Catawba runs through Lake Norman and Charlotte’s region in the southern Piedmont.
Red maple and sweetgum color the Catawba’s wooded banks and lake margins, with oak and hickory on the surrounding Piedmont hills, often late in October into November.
